Qatar's Minister of State at the Foreign Ministry Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi met ministers from Burkina Faso, Liberia, Niger and The Gambia, Mali's health and social development minister and an African Union representative for the Sahel on 5 November 2025 in Doha.
Held alongside the Second World Summit for Social Development, the meeting addressed bilateral engagement with the participating countries, regional security developments and cooperation on humanitarian and development challenges in the Sahel. The ministry did not announce a new regional treaty.
