Qatar took part in a meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Rome on 2 October 2026. Ambassador Khalid bin Youssef Al Sada represented Qatar alongside delegates from 32 countries, the European Union and international organisations, the Foreign Ministry reported.
The meeting addressed detention, repatriation, rehabilitation and reintegration issues involving individuals associated with ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Delegations also discussed coordinating assistance for detention capacity, health services and displaced people in northeastern Syria. The statement reported deliberations rather than a new Qatari funding pledge.
