According to Qatar's Foreign Ministry, the officials considered diplomatic efforts following a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar's support for negotiations to address outstanding differences through peaceful dialogue. The meeting itself did not announce a new Qatar–Switzerland agreement.
